Getting started
Install Tight Studio, grant access, sign in, and learn the main screens.
Install Tight Studio and check system requirements Make sure your Mac is compatible, install Tight Studio, and keep the app up to date. Grant screen, camera, microphone, and accessibility permissions Allow the macOS access Tight Studio needs to record the screen, sound, camera, cursor, and input. Sign in, manage your account, and understand plans Sign in with Google, Microsoft, or email and understand plan limits, watermarks, and AI credits. Learn the Home screen and project library Find recent projects, shared videos, Trash, and Team Workspace, then open a project in the editor. Use keyboard shortcuts, Settings, and updates Work faster with editor and recording shortcuts, adjust app settings, and install updates.
Recording
Capture a display, window, area, camera, mobile device, and audio.
Start a recording and choose what to capture Record a full display, one window, or a custom area and switch sources before you begin. Record with a camera and microphone or camera only Choose camera and microphone devices, check input, and record with or without the screen. Record a connected iPhone or iPad Connect a trusted iOS device over USB and capture it directly into a Tight Studio project. Record system audio Capture sound from apps and the computer on a track you can adjust separately later. Use speaker notes and the teleprompter Prepare a script and keep it visible in a movable notes window while you record. Pause, resume, restart, and finish a recording Use the recording control panel to manage a take without losing track of elapsed time.
Projects and clips
Organize projects, build multi-clip videos, import media, and protect your work.
Organize projects from the Home screen Rename, duplicate, find, trash, restore, permanently delete, and bulk-manage projects. Editing

Edit the script and generate AI voice narration Turn a transcript into an editable script and generate or regenerate spoken narration. Mix microphone, system audio, and background music Balance recorded sound, download originals, and add project-wide or precisely timed music. Exporting and sharing

Collaborate in a Team Workspace Share a local project, record or import team clips, and work together on a cloud project. Understand team editing locks and connection states See who is editing, respect read-only clips, and recover cleanly from connection interruptions.
Troubleshooting
Recover projects and resolve recording, audio, AI, export, and sharing problems.
Send diagnostics and contact support Open Support, include the right context, and send diagnostic information that helps resolve an issue. Fix screen-recording and permission problems Resolve missing permission prompts, unavailable screens or windows, and incomplete cursor capture. Fix camera, microphone, system-audio, and device-capture problems Restore missing devices and sound when camera, microphone, system audio, or iOS capture is unavailable. Recover missing, moved, or damaged projects and media Find project bundles, reopen downloads, restore Trash items, and keep source media intact.
